Professional instruction from Joyce Harman

I am now teaching classes at Old Rag Gallery (facebook) and with The School of Creative Photography. Check in with each site and get updates as we add classes and photo shoots. Many of the photo shoots will be in beautiful Rappahannock county at locations not open to the public or in other unique places.

If you are interested in possible outings where we go into the field, just to shoot, let me know. We will then send out an out an email to those people when an opportunity arises. I am particularly thinking about shooting spring flowers, if spring ever arrives in Virginia.

The next classes are being taught at Old Rag Gallery in Sperryville, VA

Next Steps, Creative Photography

Saturday February 27  9am-4pm

Once you have the image, what next? Software today can transform your images from mundane to beautiful in a few minutes and do, with the click of a mouse, what would take days in a darkroom. You will learn how to shoot and select images for processing. We will work with HDR (High Dynamic Range) software, and use Nik Software to enhance an image and get creative. This is a software class, you can bring your laptop (or just come listen) and you can download the free trials of the software we will use. Images will be provided so everyone can follow along.

March 6th
iPhoneography (9am-4pm)
Learn how to take cool pictures with your smart phone (main emphasis is the iPhone, though any phone can be used—but may not have all the apps available). Image processing apps will be covered and you will see gallery quality images made entirely on the iPhone. A list of apps to work with will be sent out, so you can be ready. This will be a lecture and practical class, with some shooting time at lunch, and plenty of processing time in the afternoon.
This class will be taught by Joyce Harman, the 2012 best in show winner at Nature Visions photo Expo. ( http://naturevisions.org/). IPhone images have been selected for the ttraveling show several times.
